Sutton Cemeteries

On September 20th 2021, Fairmount United Cemetery and Grace Anglican Cemetery became part of a new non-profit corporation named "Sutton Cemeteries Inc."

The goal was to separate the Cemeteries from their respective Churches giving them full autonomy in perpetuity.

A little History

Fairmount Cemetery

Fairmount Cemetery was officially established in 1855 to serve the Methodist, United and Baptist Community thanks to land donations from local farmers however, some burials date back to 1811 . Within this Cemetery is a section dedicated to the Legion's Veterans established shortly after World War II.

Grace Cemetery

In 1863, Grace Anglican Church purchased a lot adjacent to the Fairmount cemetery to serve the Anglican community.

Both Cemeteries operated independently until 2021 when they merged into one independent entity.

Our Mission

Thanks to generous donations and the sale of Cemetery plots, Sutton Cemeteries Inc. will be able to pursue its mission of preservation and protection of these open air historical archives as well as providing a final resting place for members of the community.
